How can movement be distilled into form?
Product Design, Furniture Design, Parametric Experimentation
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - November 2015
How can we discover new kinds of form that can inspire future spaces? What are some interesting sources of inspiration?
Windmill took interest in chronophotography, taking inspiration from objects in movement. In this case, geometry resembling a 3-pointed windmill was rotated upwards to sculpt the final form, creating a rich visual image that seems to bring time to a standstill. The result is a white leather upholstered chair with a stainless-steel base. It can seat two people facing each other for conversation.
This project explored the potential of parametric design to generate new types of form that could define future products and spaces.
